Which bottles should you check?

The FDA record, recall H-0009-2027, covers 122,021 cases of 28-ounce Gatorade Lemon Lime, Lemon Lime Zero, Orange, and Orange Zero. The listed date codes fall in April, May, and June 2027, but those months alone do not identify every recalled bottle.

Compare the full lot/date pair on your bottle with the 15 pairs in the official record. Examples include 091026 DL / JUN 07 27 and 072226 DT / APR 18 27. These examples are not the complete list. Other sizes, flavors, or codes are not automatically included.

Why was it recalled?

PepsiCo initiated the recall September 25, 2026; FDA classified it as Class II on October 2. The issue is undeclared color additives. This notice does not mean that these dyes are universally banned or that all Gatorade poses the same issue. The missing declaration is particularly relevant to people sensitive to the additives.

What should you do?

Do not consume a matching bottle. The Defense Commissary Agency’s October 8 recall notice advises returning affected products to the place of purchase for a full refund. Keep the bottle or a photo of the lot and date code to help the retailer identify it. If you are unsure whether your bottle matches, ask the retailer before drinking it.
